R.T.Kendall’s signs of a sleeping Church. Part of an article in Premier Christianity:
sleeping Church
Here are some signs we are asleep at the present time:
- The absence of conviction of sin
- A lack of the fear of God
- Little sense of outrage over the godlessness of society
- Watching pornography and feeling justified
- Avarice, greed and lack of financial integrity
- No sense of outrage over the Church’s lack of credibility in the world
- Little or no concern about people going to hell
- Little concern about the lack of knowledge of God’s word
- Indifference to the biblical view of marriage
- Indifference to holding grudges and unforgiveness
- Indifference to talking to people about Christ
- Tolerating heresies such as open theism and hyper-grace teaching
- Indifference to the teaching that the Bible is infallible
- Indifference to how much time is spent in prayer and quiet time
Don’t hit the snooze button!
God Bless
Kenny

i don’t think it is so clear cut as our response to the world to what is seen or how things are to be done but an inate rebellion against His authority.
Indifference to me does seem to manipulates our rage at loss.
The rage of sin.
Our sense of self
It cannot manipulate God
Has it manipulated me into beleiving we have lost God as if He was my property.
He has not yet cast me aside.
He has not lost us through indifference but we have l lost Him.
i need to be reconciled.Healed from self.daily.

Made me think of Jeremiah 8 v 20
“The harvest is past,
the summer has ended,
and we are not saved.”
v22 Is there no balm in Gilead
Is there no physician there?
Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us today your daily bread
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those
Who tresspass against us
Lead us not into temptation but
Deliver us from evil
For thine is the power and the glory
Forever
Amen
