Anything to add to the list?

Just a very short blog mirroring something I posted on Facebook. If we were to make a list of verses out the bible that Christians do not really beleive, what verses would you suggest should go on that list?

R.T. Kendall says that the most disbelieved verse in the bible is Luke 6 verse 37:

“Judge not, and you will not be judged:”

His reason for saying that: “We do it all the time.”

Ouch! I mean OUCH!

Well, that has sent me off to sleep, knowing I need a Saviour, grateful that I have one and His life is in me. There is hope.

God bless

Kenny

As one dear pastor quoted, ‘we are called to be witnesses, not judges and juries’. If we really treated everyone the way we would have them treat us, with ungrudging loving kindness, mercy, patience, remembering that’s the way Christ Jesus treats us when we were yet sinners, we wouldn’t judge anyone. It’s forgetting too soon how far Christ has come for us, and forgetting it’s by Grace and not by being ‘good’, that in our fear and pride and prejudice, we treat others according to whether they are ‘them’ or ‘us’ and end up dehumanizing people.
    OUCH !!
But praise God through Jesus, for He is Faithful and Just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness !!

I hope you had a comfortable night!
The idea of not judging brings up the connotation of not condemning in my mind; it is wise to weigh up a person or situation before getting into decisions concerning them.
Keeping an open mind and not condemning, since none of us is without sin, does not mean lack of good judgement. To me, that is good judgement!
But to judge in the way that the relevant verse means is to cast off, sentence and condemn, holding back mercy and grace, maybe when we do not have all the facts.

Innocent of ever doing that? Probably not!
